I'm hoping someone can help me. I have an 87 GN and the power seat just stopped moving forward and back. It moves up/down, tilts. Just not back and forth. There is no clicking sounds or anything when I hit the switch, just nothing. Does anyone have an idea what it could be or how I can test if the motor or switch is bad? I'm a beginner working on this car, only ever worked on late 60's cars. The seat is all the way up and only my girlfriend fits in it to drive it. Please help.....

The '87 seat track has three separate motors to move the seat up/down, back/forth, etc...Your problem is very likely to be that one of the motors is defective. One motor tilts the front of the seat, a second motor tilts the back and the third one moves the whole seat back and forth. It's that third one that's defective and needs to be replaced.
If I were you, I'd call Brian at www.gbodyparts.com . He might have a replacement motor to fix your track.
