Does someone know if a Powerstroke intercooler is more, less, or equivalent to a Precision front mount ? Are there some effectiveness ''stats'' or ''numbers'' we can use for comparison? Thanks!

Claude :)

anyone??

It's me again...I'll re-formulate my question:
''Has anyone ever made a comparison between a Precision front-mount intercooler and a Ford Powerstroke intercooler to see if there is a big difference in their effectiveness?
Second, are the Powerstroke intercoolers the same on a F-series pickup truck and a E-series van?
I already have the Precision front-mount and was wondering if it would be worth going to a Powerstroke?...Last, is there an already-made approximate ''pattern'' for the piping?''
Thanks,

Claude ;)

intercooler test

You are not going to find anyone that has done this test on both intercoolers. It's to hard to switch the intercoolers out, expecially the powerstroke intercooler.

Do a search on the powerstroke and you can find the pipeing numbers to get from the part store.

I would stick to the intercooler that you have now, you have a real good cooler now.
For i've got a powerstroke intercooler that's going on my tsm car just to see how it does. just like to see how it does for the mats.

''top gun'', thanks for your reply...but could you please be a little more explanatory as why I should keep the Precision?...The thought I had was that the Powerstroke could help make the engine compartment ''cleaner'' looking by not having all that piping going under the radiator support and back from it...

Claude... :)

Forget about the piping the Precision has cooler MATS....it's all about the MATS!

Thanks for your comments!...

Thanks for your info guys...I think I'm going to keep my Precision intercooler... for now at least...as I don't have any real indication that the car will perform better with the Powerstroke than with the Precision...Right now, the only gain I can think of ( and this is only my opinion...) is a cleaner looking engine compartment due to less plumbing...but for such a small improvement, I'm not sure it's worth going through all this work!!...I might reconsider doing this only if I happen to see one myself and I like the results.
Again, thanks guys! ;)

Claude :)
