I purchased 1 of these converters on sale from "Jack" & then heard they were bad news with little substance behind the bad comments. Is anyone running one of these units & if so,what's your impression.I still have mine in the box debating whether or not to try it out.Any 1st hand experience is welcome.

eBay it!

I can tell you from personal experience that eBay is the best place to sell what you may not want to use yourself. Just represent it as Art Carr TX did and provide a link. Let the buyer decide.

Then, take the cash and by a PTS 9/11.

Hi,
Not to be splitting hairs but when I see the word "Precision" used with torque converter, I think of Precision Industries (PI).
Which is a different mfg of TC.
FWIW I would call it an Art Carr (of TX) torque converter model xxxxx.

I understand that all TC are supposely precision made.
Again just my 2 cents worth.

Gary

Mine was originally manufactured by Art Carr in CA (it is an older unit with a cast casing - much stronger than the thin stamped units of today). The TC eventually failed and was sent in to Art Carr in 1999 (to Nevada). The returned unit worked exactly as I had requested...but I requested too much.:eek:

I had the NV company tighten up the converter and I've been using it into the ten-second zone for the last two years with no problems...although I realized late last year that it is still too tight down low. Guess what I'm doing this winter?:(

OK Scott I will bite, what are you doing this winter?
Take care, Kip

Damnit Kip, do I have to spell everything out for you?! ;)

I am removing my converter and having the low-end loosened up.;

Yes Scott I need everything spelled out as I cannot spell well at all.

As for the Texas converter asked about above I would use it and you will most likely enjoy it.

Take care, Kip
