Well my PT6776 HPS finally went south on me. I had to decide whether or not to send it back to get it rebuilt, or just buy a new one. I bought a new one because I don't have the time, or money for that matter to send it to them only to find out it will cost 500-700 dollars to get it rebuilt. Not to mention, it's way to big for my combo. This is a ball bearing turbo, so the price is quite a bit more. It's for sale locally too if anyone wants it for a measly sum of $400 this turbo new was around $1900 shipped from the previous owner of my car. Again it will need to be rebuilt. May trade for a good wide band set up, Power Logger ect.

Anyway, the new turbo... Once again figured I'd go big just in case I turn the wick up on this one. As I didn't get a chance to with the old one due to fueling and what not. A good fuel system will be next on my list along with suspension improvements for handling of course. But will beat up the 1/8 and 1/4 mi track too.

Specifics;

PTE's Precision PT6765 Turbocharger features the following:
• 67mm inducer compressor wheel
• Compressor cover options:
- "H" compressor cover 4.0" inlet/3" outlet
- "Ported H" compressor cover 4.0" inlet/3" outlet
• 65mm, 76 trim turbine wheel
• Turbine housing options:
- Buick .63
• Hydrodynamic 360° thrust bearing system

ray, why not the 6765 CEA (billet wheel)

Precision Turbo and Engine: Street and Race Turbocharger - PT6765 CEA

the one you have listed is the none billet version

I hope it's the billet one. When I talked to Mike at Full Throttle after ordering it from his son he said it was good for 900HP. I put that Precision link up thinking it was the same one. I guess Id better call and double check what was ordered....

The one I ordered from Full Throttle is listed under the Billet Turbo's. So, it should be Billet right? The schroud/cover is different though. I will call tomorrow and see what up for sure.

if he said 900hp the you got the billet unit. you just messed up and posted the wrong link.

Sweet deal. I got a brand new one from a guy for $1500 with a HD actuator and I thought that was a good deal. Guy needed cash quick. lol

got it new also, didnt get a chance to install in car before he sold car

That is some serious overkill.

I saw a project Jeff was working on make 525 hp at the wheels at 17 psi. It took him boring the waste gate hole to 1 5/8 to get it under control. Something to tink about but I'm not sure of your combo.

Over kill maybe. But, I rather have more that enough, than not enough for future builds ect. If my engine ever went south, I will probably be going with a built up 6.0 LS series engine. I can always put the mighty turbo 6 back in at a later date.

just noticed the pic in the back ground.. hell yaaa

Raymond, I wouldn't think it too big for you're combination? What was the problem ? That is the turbo PTE recommends for your stroker motor. By the way if you have 60# injectors I spoke to Erick Marshall & he claims those injectors are safe into the mid 10"s if you're using alky. Spool fool is currently doing that with no problems although my initial thought would be to run 72's. You also need to call me if you ever intend to use a roller cam. You might encounter a lobe clearance problem with the rods. I'm doing an almost identical engine to yours right now utilizing a 500 lift comp cam & all 6 rods had to be ground for clearance. On you're engine because I used a flat tapped cam I only had to grind 3 of the rods slightly to achieve clearance. So be aware of that.
