I can't locate any teflon paste. I have checked at several stores, Lowes, Home Depot and Aco and none carry teflon paste. The only teflon product I found was teflon thread sealant and it is only rated to 125 F. The only thing all the stores came up with is Plummer's Putty. Where did you pick-up the teflon paste from?I never drained my radiator during my Precision SLIC installation. Sure some coolant dripped out of the bolt hole that goes thru the water pump housing, but a dab of teflon paste on the bolt & tighten it up quickly and has been absolutely fine, haven't had a leak in years.

You should be able to find Teflon paste or Teflon Thread Sealer at any automotive store..ie PepBoys, AutoZone, Napa, etc, etc...The stuff I have is sold under the Permatex brand....believe it's called "Thread Sealer".
Teflon is a Dupont trade marked name & is actually PTFE (PolyTetraFluoroEthylene) sorry, not sure of the exact spelling..... believe it's good for several hundred degrees F.
Interesting, I must have talked to the wrong person at Autozone, he didn't seem to know what I was talking about. He suggested the blue sealant that goes on gaskets when dealing with coolant. I just want to do this the right way. I also going to put a gasket where the .5 inch spacer meets the engine block. I will use the blue sealant for that.

I found it at Autozone. I just had to look on the back and see if it contained PTFE and it did. I also bought a drain pan and I'm glad I did. Because when I pulled the bolt from the water cover, I there was quite a bit of coolant that came out. In addition I drained the radiator as well so the level would go below the bolt that I was putting in. Today is the big day, after work, I will be connecting up my Precision SLIC and next week I will be installing a LS1 MAF Sensor and translator. One change at a time though. Hopefully since I have a WBO2 and a TT 6.0 I won't have to adjust the fuel amount. With the WBO2 and 6.0 TT chip it should auto correct. Hopefully I see some gains over the stock intercooler. You should be able to find Teflon paste or Teflon Thread Sealer at any automotive store..ie PepBoys, AutoZone, Napa, etc, etc...The stuff I have is sold under the Permatex brand....believe it's called "Thread Sealer".

Having my wife pick this up today, so when I install the shroud I don't get a lot of vibration. I was seeing some knock with my stock IC, and as I was taking it off I noticed I was missing the bolt that mounts it on the drivers side bracket and the lower bracket was lose. Hopefully that was the source of the knock. Since I have my IC out I am going to make sure everything I can reach is tightened. I'm pretty sure the knock was false, because it was showing up on decel and not under boost. Underboost, I didn't see any.Yup, been an ongoing issue for me for the past few years. Think that you need some very thin strips of adhesive backed closed cell foam installed between the shroud & the intercooler to take care of the noise caused by vibration.
