Anybody got one handy? Or a link to one? I'll be checking my "Jakeshoe" built 200R4 out next week...

Thanks!

Are the pressures measued while driving?

They can be measured/monitored while driving. Usually they're measured with the TV cable unhooked from VB/Carb with engine @1200rpm and E-brake on and tires chocked. Cable @ Minimum TV pull and Max TV-Cable fully pulled.

Russ,
How's it working?

Pretty good pressure chart on Lonnies site.
Extreme Automatics Where winning is easy

You'll usually see right at 250 psi max TV with the PR system you have.

Runs great! Can't tell too much about the shifts as the speedo is not working correctly (needs calibration). First 3 gears you can feel, but 4th and L/U I'm not sure about yet... I need to get a new fitting on my hose whip and get some baseline pressures for ya.

Finally got a set of readings today:

____________TV @ 1200 RPM fast idle____________TV @ full travel
1___________________212__________________________212
2___________________195__________________________220
3___________________100__________________________215
4___________________109__________________________222
N___________________102__________________________232
R___________________165__________________________260
P___________________100__________________________220

Third gear @ full TV was a little "bouncy", about a 20 PSI swing, but that was the only thing that looked odd. These pressures were after adjusting, initially, I had the cable about 1/4" tighter and most pressures were ~ 30# higher @ idle speed. Pressures all start to rise as soon as the cable moves.

Am I OK with these? Can't wait to drive it!

What are pressures at normal idle?

Pressures look OK, I would like to see them a bit higher at full TV, and the idle pressures may be high because of the idle speed.

What is the radius of the TV cable attachment?

I'll have to wait til Friday to get more data. :) Never thought about the actual idle pressures, all I saw indicated to check @ 1200. Pressures were initially higher and I shortened the (Lokar) cable to bring them down some. In retrospect, prolly not the right thing to do...

The lever is a Holley bracket bolted to my Holley 750DP so I'm ASSuming the geometry is correct. IIRC, from normal idle positon to full open, there's 1 1/16" of "pullout" on the cable so I only pulled my cable out that amount to get my "MAX" pressure readings.

That amout of travel sounds like it might be a little short, I had checked mine on a Qjet & thought I had about a 1/4 inch more, but that's only from memory.

Today's readings:

____________TV @ 1000 RPM normal idle__________TV @ full travel
1___________________205__________________________210
2___________________215__________________________215
3___________________110__________________________225
4___________________110__________________________225
N___________________111__________________________230
R___________________182__________________________262
P___________________112__________________________230

I re-measured my total cable travel and found it to be only 15/16", but I don't think it's gonna matter. When I pulled the cable out 15/16" for the "full travel" pressure, there was ~ 1/4" left on the cable and pulling it to the end made no difference in the pressure. So, I'm already there. As long as my idle pressures aren't too high and the car road-tests OK...

I don't see any way of modding the Holley arm to increase travel (I'd have to build a new one), but it doens't matter as the last bit of travel made no difference in the pressure reading...
