Pressure Regulator Valve

In the pressure regulator valve there is a spring called the pressure regulator spring. If I change the spring for a stiffer spring or softer spring what will this do to the transmission? will it help the shifts any?

Yes there is....

a stronger spring will raise pressure, you may not notice better shifts but will give it better holding power thus stronger pulling and longer life.

Cool deal because I got a 83 325-4L just laying in my back yard waiting to be junked and I pulled the spring from it and compared it to the spring in my 84 325-4L and the 83 was a heavier spring so I'm going to swap that in my trans and see what happins. Yeah I didnt even know that we could send personal messages. I was stupid but I ran into it and then responded. About the chevy thing its all good I would use a ford if you gave me one as long as its fast and it dont leave me broke down
