SignUp Now!if anything it's running rich, i think i found one of the biggest problems. If you don't close all the valves the system will not be sealed. The test will will not work very well.
Vacuum leaks will effect idle and low rpm more that anything.
M.O. get a hand held vacuum pump and start testing all the circuits.
A pcv is a controlled vacuum leak. That said the wrong one for the application may effect things but I don't see the right one going bad and causing a problem. The main thing is to make sure the line is good and it seals shut under boost.
Is the car lean at idle?

looking back i was kind of vag on it, my short term id raly bad and i some times forget what i'm doing.. i will be looking for vac leaks on my 87 gn.. thanks for the replyMike your post wasn't clear as to what you were seeking an answer to, compression testing or pressurizing the vacuum system. What year is your car? Under the hood there should be a sticker w/the vacuum circuits. Take note of the check valves if you have them, also.
check out my post about my scan numbers i have them all listed.. i found what i think i need on makeing a preassure tester, just waiting to feel better... thanks for the infoMike did you gain any information that you were looking for? I tested without touching the valves it worked just fine.
Good luck! What are your BLM #'s
