Prices of meth and denatured alky

I was looking around in lowes yesterday and found alky for 15.00 a gallon . I then called a local hardware store wich had it for 35.00 for 5 gallons .. From what iv read on here meth is cheaper thats why guys run it, but i priced it out and found a place that wants 38.00 for 5 gallons and he said he thinks it went up a little that was an older price ... Looks like im going with alky. How much of this stuff do you guys typically go through?

I bought denatured alcohol a half mile away from my house at an expensive hardware store for something around that price, maybe it was $14 a gallon. I guess I would go through a few gallons a year or so. The only place reasonably close to me where I could get methanol would require I buy it in 50 gallon drums, or I have to drive an hour away to get it, forget that idea. I'll gladly pay for the denatured available anywhere.

I buy the 5 gallon M1 methanol drums that VP race gas sells from a local speed shop. They are about $32.00 per drum. I know I'm probably in the minority but a 5 gallon drum usually lasts me about two years with just fair weather driving and a couple trips to the track thrown in. My lead foot has gotten a little lighter over the years.

I used to do the denatured alky at the hardware store until I realized meth was cheaper. I found a place over an hour away that sells meth about the same price as regular fuel. On special occasions I head up there with two 5 gallon gas cans and fill them up, when they have meth.....yeah the station is close to a drag strip so they go thru meth regularly. I just call in advance and make sure they have some in stock.

5 gal meth from local speed shop torqco brand $38.Should last me till the middle of next year.

Find a buddy that buys drums and buy 5 from him.

$4 a gallon. I have been taking a 5 gallon container down to get filled.

Nucar Chevy in New Castle, DE was about double the cost!
