I know people have asked how much stage 2 costs, but again what is an average cost for a stage 2 motor, everything you need for the motor, trans, rearend, engine management? I'm considering going stage 2, but I know it's costly. I would like to get twin turbo or something producing lots and lots of hp. Thanks guys.

Stage II

Do yourself a favor and just buy a car done. You will easily end up with what I have seen many cars sell for that are 95% complete the way I think it should be.

You will easily have 18k into a drivetrain.

over 20k when you get into everything, cage, race seats, tires, wheels on top of the drivetrain, and that prolly with you doing all the installation.

Its real easy to get 30,000 in a stage 2 project by the time you get all the stuff you need or want. Take Gene's advise buy one already built.

Thanks a lot guys. I don't think I'll be going to stage 2 unless I win the lottery. I'll just stick w/ the stock block and get some aluminum heads and try not to blow the motor.

you should be aware that even a stock block motor capable of 600+ HP is not cheap....figure $12-15 K properly set up...you don't need aluminum heads to blow up a stock block...save your money and get some well ported irons

Yea , I had , have , about 12 grand into my all-out stock block project and still more to go, then decided to go STAGE II, now I am selling all the stock block stuff to tb,com members at near 1/2 new price, wish I had started with stg motor .

The GN I bought came with about $10,000 in receipts and a lot more stuff that I don't have receipts for and I got an extremely good deal on the car.
