Quote from Republican Senator John McCain,

To people who say that treatment of prisoners by Middle East governments often is far worse than the sexual humiliation and physical intimidation in Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison, McCain said they are missing the point.

"America's greatness is defined by the treatment of our enemies," he said.

I gotta' laugh, Lefty. I don't blame you for being mad. I got your number. ;) An American of Italian descent such as myself, isn't offended that someone might say an off-color word. I'm not a perpetual victim, like you. You never dealt with anyone like me? What........everybody agrees with your weeney point of view? I don't think so. What's Chris Chow have to do with it? Is he an Arab? Oh, you're stereotyping. Shame on you! I guess you have some affectionate terms for people who are murdering our soldiers. After all, you wouldn't want to offend anyone. If we beg them to stop, do you think they won't blow up any more real Americans? I'm sure you do.

"Can't we all just get along?" :p

Brainwash this..........9/11. Oh, you forgot. And yes, this country does more for the world good than any other country could dream to do. Love it, or leave it!

9/11... have you forgot that YOUR bush administration had prior knowledge and key information that could have potentially avoided this event.

Have you forgotten the Reagan administration caused many of these problems with their "foreign policy" with Iran-Iraq. Also Afghanistan- Solviet Union.

The US does more for the world than any other country.... probably true but look at the great amount of resources and power the US has. Its a shame we can spend billions of dollars to fight a war [scratch that - the war is over ,right;) ] that has no bearing than to use that money to provide healthcare to ALL US citizens. We are one of the only if Not the only Superpower w/o government healthcare. I'm sure the billions of dollars could be allocated to more beneficial uses for everybody.

Whatever happened to Bin Laden? You know he used to work for our government right? You don't hear much abouth him now. He probably struck a deal. And last time I checked Sadaam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11 so ho does us being in Iraq tie in to 9/11. Did you forget something? All Muslims are NOT in Al Quaeda

;)

The whole basis for the problem of the treatment lies in the fact that in order to get this big old country unified over any type of military action we have to go out there and make it look like good vs. evil so the liberals don't have an argument. It shouldn't take all that rhetoric to stomp on terrorists regardless of where they operate out of.

Sooooo I would prefer it to be like this. Kill one American and we will level a city. Kill 3000 of them and we will level your country.

End of argument, no good vs. evil crap and how we are better than anyone.

Just the simple fact that we can be BADDER than anyone and will retaliate.

I think only then will the rest of the world get the message, Don't Tread on Me.

Yeah I know another redneck saying.

John you really a WOP? Me too. ;)

Thats right and you don't know me either. thats my point. how can you judge and or insult a group of people that you have NO knowledge of. How am I a perpetual victim? You know nothing about me -for all you know I could be an Italian American as well. Dont judge with your ignorant views. Like I said before I respect your buick knowledge and just saw your red regal and like it as well but when you blatantly spew ignorance and degrade people i have to step up and say something. You dont even know what those iraqi soldiers did? Im sure they were just following orders too. What hapened to the Geneva Convention? There is no winner in war. The people who suffer are usually the innocent. the people who make the decisions are miles away. Sure there is need for the armed forces and Yes I'm proud to be an American but I have been all over the world and we as americans take alot for granted.

Answer me this - After it's all said and done what will be accomplished except a massive body count. If you level a country there will be survivors and they will want nothing more than to run a plane into a group of innocent americans b/c you just killed his mother or lil' sister or grandma.

and all of this talk of Wop - that is offensive as well. Like i said before I dont really care what ethnicity you are - IGNORANCE IS UNIVERSAL. it could have been an Iraqi or Chinese or European American saying your remarks. It still doesnt solve anything or move forward. Just keeps us [Us being humans] back

The problem is there will ALWAYS be a group of people that want to run the plane into one of our buildings.

That's the way they think and operate.

Not really according to the Geneva conventions book on military tactics either.

Point is you have to put the fear of God into them, okay pick one, I would prefer Allah in this case.

History has shown that they are all crazy over there and now with technology they want to come over here with their "issues".

Pick a reason, Bush, Israelis, women without veils, wrong God, you name it. It don't freakin' matter to them.

We have to make it matter to them.

Yup it's come down to us or them, I prefer them.

Also all those Iraqi military folks that we didn't arrest or kill on the march up and down to the capitol are now the ones reforming into the cells that want to kill our soldiers.

There is only one way to teach them a lesson.

I'm not a particularly religious person, but for me the "golden rule" stands above all others, and by that logic I'm truly appalled at what has transpired.

On the other hand, the only sad thing here is our people were STUPID enough to take pictures of their transgressions! They will now pay the price for their stupidity...

Sadam did worse things. If we aren't barbaric enough to scare these thugs then they will keep at it. Who cares if some soldiers had S&M sex with prisoners anyways? Not like they wouldn't do the same to us. Time to fight fire with fire.

Thats GREAT! Stoop down to Sadam's level, and hey!, its just like the good old days!

WTF- who is they/them? How many middle eastern people do you really know? or do you get all your information from television? How many Muslims do you know? Do you know that Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all intertwine and believe and share many of the same beliefs. Many of the differences you speak of evolved from MANkind trying to interpret things differently. I believe there is only one GOD. religion is just interpretation. Just think of each religion as a foreign language. You can say the same thing just differently. Allah just means GOD in Arabic fyi. Did you lnow Islam is the largest religion in the world. Have you ever read a Quoran? Once again I guess ignorance is bliss. So i guess you won't be happy til them are all gone, huh. OK grand wizard. Wasn't it ironic in OK city bombing they immediately blamed Islam and Middle eastern people when all along is was a couple of caucasions. See - that is my point TERRORISM is bad whether local, national, international, white, black, hispanic, asian, middle eastern. Wiping out a race or group of people is NOT the answer
Just cycles back until its too late. The world is Much, much "smaller" than before.

I must say though, politics is draining. I'd rather be talking about our cars. I really did like John Dicarlo's car- mainly because it was different. Just like people. Don't hate people because of their difference. I was blessed to grow up with friends of all races and religions. Maybe if you actually met or knew some middle eastern people it would dispell your beliefs and you wouldnt want to kill'em all. Now lets talk turbo buicks.:D

Here is my 2 cents.

I think it is tough when you are in your 20's and people are shooting to kill you, you are watching your friends die, Moms and Dads because they were called to duty by their country. Now one day you catch a few of these people that were shooting at you, how would you treat them with dinner and a beer:confused:

Granted wrong of them by taking pictures. However this has and will always happen in War. WW1, WW2 and Vietnam were no different. From what I have seen, I have only seen them humiliated big deal, what about when they show pictures of our dead solders being beaten while still in a burning car that they just bombed, that is okay though. Or dragging their body down to the streets of Africa tied to a car bumper.... Allot of people in this country need to remove their diaper and panties and stop thinking War is politically correct.

Just another way for the Liberals and Media to attack the administration. I want to see what these same people do when we have a train bombed or another plane blow up and kill Innocent Americans. They will be up in arms and freaking out.

How fast many forget the innocent blood we have lost. At the end of the day I say the Media and the Liberals need to give it a REST!!!!!!

First off innocent blood is innocent blood whether you are American or not. 2nd its not right to drag anybody from a car bumper and no one is disputing the wrong doing to American soldiers as well. But haven't we learned anything from the past and those past conflicts or are we just going to keep killing people. It will never stop. Those soldiers in other countries have families also and they feel just like you. Are we as Americans and our lives worth more than theirs just because we were blessed with growing up in the USA. Without the media an the liberals there would still be segregation. Is that what you want? There is really no clear cut answer to the problem but if no one takes a stand we are all doomed. Emotions cloud judgement and i understand how someone could be angry but to blame a group of people for a minority groups doings isn't right. Thats like saying all white people are bad because of KKK or all Middle eastern are bad because of Al quaeda or Germans are bad because of Nazis. It takes a bigger man to know when to stop fighting. The whole world knows the US is THE SUPERPOWER. What we do with that SUPERPOWER is a totally different issue.

Nice words, but you are wasting your breathe with certain people on this board. If you express any liberal view you will become a target for their ignorance and rage...So put on your seat belt, because you are in for a rough ride..

They will say they we had it coming to us, just like the last time.

OOPS! You're a ignorant racist now too!

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A leading military newspaper said that US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld set the tone for the prisoner abuse scandal in Iraq by refusing to give captives rights due prisoners of war under the Geneva Conventions.
"This was a failure that ran straight to the top," said the editorial appearing in the May 17 edition of the Military Times weeklies.
"Accountability here is essential -- even if that means relieving top leaders from duty in a time of war," it said.
Owned by Gannett, the Military Times publishes the Army, Navy and Air Force times, weeklies that are widely read by servicemembers and distributed on US military bases around the world.

Just remember my vote WILL cancel yours out this fall.

Thank Allah for that.

I don't think our soldiers over there are wondering which woman is the good one.... only which one is the one with the bomb strapped to her back.

The Iraqis must straighten themselves out quickly and they haven't proven in 3000 years they can do that.

They only know rule by force whether it be dictatorships or warlords.

I guess they are just like the US military a few bad apples spoiling the whole bunch.

Obviously American lives are more precious than that of other lands, part of being an American we protect ourselves first.

Allies are #2.

France and Germany would be a bit down on the list.

Then you have scumbags like terrorists and the nations and people that support them.

Before someone demands to know, YES I HAVE SPENT TIME OVER THERE!

I had to have surgery in a Saudi hospital 10 years ago and if the Australian doctor hadn't come in on his off time I proably would have died because the Arab doctors didn't want to work on the American

Yes it happened!

2 years ago I bought T shirts when I was in one of the "friendly arab" countries of planes flying into the twin towers. They were ALL OVER THE PLACE! And many others of Bin Laden like he was a WWF super star.

I could type this stuff all day but just don't feel the need to.

I'm the one that is brain washed:rolleyes:

No kidding. And even if your view is not a "Liberal" one, only a non-political observation, these "Kill em all and let God sort em out" morons will prove themselves un-educated Bud swilling, scrawny easy-boy sitting pundits.

FOX NEWS RULES!!!!

BTW, the war is going swimmingly! :(

We watch it all fall apart, and still the GWB supporters support.

Baaaa.....Baaaa.....
