Ok I just installed the pro stick on th eT_Type and now I am trying to figure out how the reverse lock out mechanism is one handed.

It's late and I must be missing something, can someone explain how you actuate the release trigger while engaging the shift stalk all with one hand?

Thanks

I had that shifter in my Camaro and always used both hands to engage reverse. A small price to pay for the safety features of such a shifter and the ability to slam gears as hard as you want! I liked it so much I just ordered one for my TR.

while in neutral you should be able to press the reverse lockout button without touching the shift knob. The knob will jump up a bit and should be able to be moved.

Thanks I'll take note of this.

I plan on getting this shifter did the neutral and depressing the lockout button work?

It is supposed to be a two handed operation. Unless you have triple jointed extra long fingers. ;)

It doesn't require two hands if set up right. Using just one hand put the shifter in neutral. Take you hand off the shifter and push the reverse lockout and the shifter will move torward reverse on its own. You will now be able to push the handle to reverse. Squeeze the trigger and push into park. You can do this all with one hand.

Right from their ad.

These B&M Pro Stick automatic shifters have every feature you need in a competition shifter: Compact size, spring-loaded gate action for consistent shifts, one-hand reverse lockout, and a feature the competitors don't have--they can fit more than one transmission.

Yeah it works, I can't say I am in love with the way it works but it does work.

You take your hand off of the shifter, press the red lever. Then move the shifter forward, mine is a little hard to disengage. With time I hope it get's better..

It will wear in with time and get smoother. I take them apart and smooth the little tang out on a polishing wheel.

Is this really worth all the trouble of putting it in? What is it going to do for me that is better than the stock setup? Im just trying to sell myself on this before I spent the $$. Where is the cheapest place to get one? Thanks for any help.
