I was taking a guy from work out in my 86 T-Type to show him that it was faster than his 66 Chevelle. We were doing about 50 and I put it at 3/4 throttle and then to the floor. When I put it to the floor, it felt like the car stalled and then when I lifted and got back on it, the problem went away. Could it be the damn plastic tube between the MAF and turbo collapsing? Help me out! I'm running a completely stock everything but cat-back exhaust.

Sounds like it pulled timing, went lean, or did both. Personally, I wouldn't put my foot in it if its still running a stock style fuel pump.

Do you have a good boost guage? The stock one isn't always the most accurate thing in the world. The stock chip will not work very well with today's 93 octane gas + more than 15lbs of boost.

hmmm

I run about 17 lbs of boost on 93 pump gas with very little problem. I have never had the plastic tube collapse on me. It sounds like you're running lean. I would get yourself a scantool and figure out exactly what's up with the car. I know this is easier said than done, especially since I went about 1.5 years before I got mine. But now I don't know how I lived without it. I bet the scan tool tells you you're running lean at WOT. Brand new these fuel pumps were borderline inadequate, I can't imagine that an old stock one is even THAT good. Good luck with your car!

I do also, but not on the stock chip with a stock fuel pump and no scantool . . .

Tom Tom, if you want, you could borrow Turbolink from me sometime and do a few runs with your car.
