problem with windshield wipers

Seldom do they work immediately when you select low or intermittent. If you leave them on either of these settings they will eventually work. If you select the high setting they will work immediately. What do I need to replace? Thanks.

GM wipers rarely move immediately when you put them on intermittent.

I was courious about this also. If it was the wipper motor or intermittent housing. Did a search on the web and found this about trouble shooting.
