Has anybody seen da Vinci Code on their DVD?
I purchased the DVD last week and the subtitles won't stay turned off. I can change the settings to "no subtitles" but as soon as someone speaks French the subtitles come back on and don't go off until I go back in and turn them off again.
I purchased the single DVD (not the special multi-DVD package) at Best Buy so I may return it but I have a feeling all of them will be this way.
Anybody else have this problem??

I bought the DVD from Walmart and haven't had a problem. My guess is your player is being goofy.

I have the multi-disk set. No problems here. How old is your DVD player? Nice unit or el-cheapo unit?

It's about 3 years old and it's closer to the cheaper version ($140) so it could be the player. I'm going to test the DVD in some friends units to see if they have the same problem if not then they'll receive a xmas gift:D

The only problem I had was the quality of the acting! I guess it was acted out about as well as it was written to begin with...

If my BOSE POS player can play it without problem maybe its the DVD itself. Don't ever buy BOSE. Such crap! I had a similar issue in the past with a DVD and just returned the DVD. That must be annoying. Your not missing anything. The movie was horrible! I have seen better acting on Jackass!

Maybe there is a code for the DVD and/or player. ;)

I have it and when I put it in a spare $39 Wal*Mart DVD player it does the same thing. A couple of different movies do it actually. The sub-titles seem to come on automatically, but I am able to shut them off.

I also tried to back it up (as in copy it - I back most of my DVDs up since the kids like to use them as frisbees, hide them, etc.) but it won't work. The message I get from DVD Shrink is that the menu system is invalid. Might be related.

When things like that happen to me, the culprit is usually my 2 year old. She like to push buttons and cause all kinds of problems for mommy and daddy.
