Proper GN Centercap Install

I've looked around on the site for a solid answer but it seems everyone is saying something different? I lost one the other day and had to get another but confused why the little black metal pieces are bent UP? I see some say bend them down and put under the lugs and others say no? Whats's the answer please?? I need to check my other caps after I get this one done.

It supposed to be bent up. After tightening the lug nuts they snap on. I seat two of the prongs on two lug nuts and give the center a good tap with my fist. They should be on tight.

Yep tabs are that way the center cap gets wedged in. To keep the caps on I use a old solder iron and melt the black plastic tips on the back of the cap so they mushroom over the metal clip.
