I have been a really strong support of gbody's for the last twenty to thirty years. Have always drag raced and now ready to try something new. I really don't want to cut it up just the best lowered stance and best wheel and tire packages. Any help and ideas would be great.

I actually have a thread up showing what I'm doing to mine. It really depends on your budgets and goals.

For a mild pro touring car I would get some nice shocks, adjustable upper control arms in the front, new body mounts, and every brace you can throw on the car. Upgrade the brakes, vacuum setup is my choice and get some nice wheels/tires under it. I would do the jeep steering shaft swap to remove some slop from the steering as well.

Do you have a goal/budget in mind?!

I too am going a different route with my GN. I want a better ride/handling out of mine and a lower stance. I would encourage you to read the various threads on here about suspension mods. Dsapper has a good one and ScottW with GNSPerformance has several. Scott has been giving me great input on what direction I want to go on mine. Just educate yourself first and get an idea of what you want, then shop around so you don't waste you money. Good luck!

I have just bought this car. I am really surprised at the handling of the car for the years it has. What I am looking to do is probably a ebauck spring set and a nice set of 17x8 wheels. I am not after the road grader look, just clean. Did GN come with a rear brace at rear horns or a tow hitch? I have read several articles about bracing. My car looks like it came with a tow hitch at one time.

Get some decent shocks and do a bushing set as well, that plus your springs and some nice tires will do wonders. No rear brace but it was a trick back in the day to put on a tow hitch for bracing. Most take some square tubing and bolt it to the bumper mounts between the two horns.
