Need some feedback for a possible change in setup, I want to be able to pull high 10s

I currently have a pt63 big shaft turbo with the .63 turbine housing and am considering changing to a pt70 big shaft w .85 housing. Im not sure that i can interchange the .63 housing from the pt63 into the pt70 so im going to leave it as isw the .85

Im not sure what the bigger housing will affect or if its good or bad move so any feedback regarding this change is appreciated. are most guys running high tens with the .63 housing? will the .85 help after a certain boost level or do i need a higher rev limit to benefit from it, etc

cas v2 front mount w 3 inch pipes
ported big valved heads
210/208 cam
3500 n/l converter
slightly ported intake
forged pistons on stock rods
72 lbs w tt chip

currently running 20 psi but will increase with race gas to 30 psi

The 63 will do all you are trying to do as is.

Whether or not the exhaust housings will interchange depends on if they have the same exhaust wheel or not, but the 63 will get you in the 10's as is.

ok, i know they are both p trims? also, when will the pt70 become a benefit? low tens? any idea what the bigger housing will do?

Then yes the housing are interchangable "if" you can get them off without damage.

With your converter my "guess" is it wouldn't hurt your spool up time, and it might free up some backpressure when you really start to turn it up (more power).

But as I said if 10's is all you want just tune what you've got and use it to it's potentional.

Once you max out what you have try out the 70, and tell us what kind of difference it made for you.

P.S. I have a 67 P-trim on my car with a .63 housing, the times in my sig were approx 25 psi.

nice, 25 psi was that on race fuel or meth?

63 or 70 turbo

With your combo,I like the 66,67 or te45a turbo..These would work well with the 3500 converter and give you that 10 second time slip..If this was my combo I would go with one of these for best street/strip combo for me...
All 3 turbos have been low 10's and hi 9 for the 67 on member's cars..:)

IMO the dollar vers. HP gain from a 63 to any of those turbos isn't worth it...Stick with the 63, upgrade when it breaks or you dry the 63 up.

That's why I said if it was my combo for "me",just my preference..:)
But I also agree with you,no need to spend money to run 10 seconds..The 63 turbo will lay down some mid 10 second passes on a properly tuned buick...I know of one person who was running 10.60 et back in the late 90's with the 63 turbo and 55lb injectors.

thanks guys, i just ordered a new tt chip and got my wb02 , im going to install , and see how far i can get with the 63 . i already have the pt70 which needs seals, ill rebuild and see next summer what the car does with it vs the 63. but def sounds like i dont need the change.

thanks for the feedback
