My car is used 99% of the time on the street. What would be the minimum stall I could use with the "67" and still have decent street manners but wont fall on its face when its time to not be decent?

I think Banning is running one with a 3200 or 3500 stall-he seems to like it.

Thanks for reply. I havent read much on the optional set ups for the 67 as far as housings are concerned or wheels. how is/will yours be set up? Whose 9"? What tuning system are you using? what injectors handling the thirst. Im trying to buy once then sit back and tune it tight as a fiddle string. THanks again.

9" non lock up Art Carr 3200 stall. I doubt I will ever be going back to slick as I can't stand switching tires or the way the E/T streets drive so a little lag if any will be OK.

I am running a 67 large shaft turbo, 4" to 2.5" housing by Limit. I was going to buy from Precision but to many people on this board have had problems with warranty claims with them while no one has ever stated they had a problem with Limit. Limit states you don't need a large shaft in the 67 but I did anyway for durability. Precision has a 4" to 3" housing that might be a little better but Limit can aquire one for you.

I have 65 lb injectors but you can get away with 55 lb. People will say the turbo will outflow the injectors but 55's are good for a mid 10 or enough to blow your crank all over the road. Go larger if you plan on redoing the bottom end.

For tuning I am leaning toward the translator plus, extender chip and LS1 MAF. It depends on what type of sale they have. If not I will be going to a MaxEffort 16 position chip.

I have a question. Could you run this turbo with a stock converter if it was ball bearing? If not what is the largest ball bearing turbo that could be used with a stock converter?

Thanks

Yes you can, but it will suck. My turbo like what CopGN is using, but I have a 61mm compressor wheel. I used it on the stock converter and It was not too bad, but not good enough for me. Full boost (26 psig) was had at about 4000 RPM in 2nd gear.

I am sure that even if it was ball bearing, it would not do that much, if any, better spooling the turbo.

I now have a 3400 stall 9x11 from PTS. I have not put this combo to the street, but I am sure it will rock. Should be done at the end of the month.:)
