PTK kit.... parts advice

Pro Turbo Kit

I'm considering getting a turbo kit for the 1994 Trans Am. It's been about 3 years since I last took a serious look at a turbo install and I've fallen behind the times. Right now, I am in the process of reading up and am making great use of the site here.

What I'd like to know for now is: What parts upgrades do you recommend for this kit? As well as what head unit would be appropriate for the 8 cylinder to make between 350 to 550+ hp?

This kit would be going on a forged and balanced LT1 355 producing a CR of 9.2:1 with AFR LT4 195cc heads ported/polished by GTP, serious valvetrain, etc. I currently have a 224/236 .536/.555 115 cam in the 355. I believe this would be an adequate cam for boost applications, but what input can you offer me for alternatives?

So basing against the kit from the link and the info on the car.... what parts do you recommend I use for this car that will see primarily street miles?

With the correct hard parts, that kit will make toms of HP. The horsepower that you want is only limited by the turbo. You could spool a 70mm turbo with 355ci without much difficulty. That would easily get you the 550 at the wheels that you want.

You should give PTK a call and see what they say.

Before you buy ANYTHING,go to www.turbomustangs.com they do more than Ford's,they even have there own LS1 and LT1 section.Also try www.turbogms.com PTK seems to make a really good kit but expect a REALLY long wait,about 4 months.HTH
