ok guys i hvae soem questions. im curious as to waht i have to know about changing over my turbo and elbow. can i take the elbow off the stock turbo with no probs? im under the impresion that the puck is somehow stuck into hte turbo too? just someone explain this to me so i know what i am doing when i put my new elbow onto my new turbo. thanks guys im lost on the whole puck thing.

There is a hole in the turbo itself.

Puck that is housed in the elbow housing covers the hole.

You can take off the elbow and the puck goes with it.

Flat metal seal over a hole in the turbo no real interconnection.

ok i purchased a pte-44 turbo from a guy on here and i want to put a ported elbow with bigger puck on too. can i just bolt this on or am i gonna have to do some kind of cutting or something? htanks for the help

The bigger puck will like a bigger hole. You should ask the seller to measure the hole in the PTE44 turbo.

Usually they are enlarged for a bigger puck in an aftermarket downpipe but not always.

The larger hole prevents boost creep I believe.

If the puck is 1 3/8" or so you want just over an inch hole in the turbo housing itself.

ok i just bought a elbow wiht bigger puck from a guy on here. he said the puck is 1.25" and i already have the turbo i just wold have to look at it to see waht size the hole is. is this right os far?

Not look, measure it with a caliper or 6" scale accross the diameter.

Can't use a yardstick. :D

shold i measure this first before i buy the elbow with the 1.25" puck in it??
