I just tested my pump and with the controller on 8 of 8, and setting the Map controller on the tester to 30, it held at 130psi with the car off.

This normal?

A little low, start the car so the battery goes up a little. I would expect to see higher pressure. At 14v the pump should make close to 200 PSI when new. 160-180 is fine.

Two things you can confirm, one is voltage applied to pump. Meaning if your IGN terminal on your fuse box is lets say 11.6 and your pump see's 11 volts. Then you have a small drop. At 11 volts you get 130 PSI that would be normal then. You can get a little more out if you increase the Initial on the PAC controller.

The bottom line is the pressure you get is proportional to voltage applied to the pump. Age of pump. Size of nozzle. And fluid used. It will make more pressure on water than alcohol.

There is voltage drop all over the car. This is why I just pointed out to seeing exactly how much voltage is at the pump itself.

Post back your findings.

Thanks for the input.

I'll try it with the car on this weekend.

What is the best way to tell the voltage going to the pump?

Use a DC voltmeter across the red/black pump wires.

Can be done under the dash, or by the pump if you pierce the wires.

Tested it with the car on, went to 155psi (the first darker black line after 150psi..I think that is 155?).

Pretty happy with that.
