Hello Everyone,
I am about to purchase an alky kit for my 86 GN. I just wanted to make sure that I am ordering all of the right stuff that will go along with the kit and help with tuning, performance, and safety. Here is what I am going to get:

1. Razor's Alky kit (Single Nozzle with Bar Map)
2. Power logger
3. Wideband (Autometer) to match the rest of my gauges
4. Pico Connector - 0952T (GM Ignition Cavity)
5. TurboTweak Wideband Chip v6.1 (Alky Chip)

Does this setup sound correct? Where is the best place to buy an Alky kit from?

You can buy the kit directly from me

I carry the pico connector

The chip from Eric at turbotweak.com

I personally prefer the scanmaster as a permanently installed scantool . The power logger as a tuning tool since it can record
But a laptop has to be connected

If you have not yet I would recommend a FP,FP hot wire and all the other basic mods. The Alchy kit is truly custom made for our cars and the install was a breeze. Good luck:)

Audio knock detector will let you know if it's knocking so you can let off the gas before you hurt something.

I have searched and found little clear explanation. I see alky kits with and without map sensor... can someone explain this to me what the purpose in life is of the sensor from factory? why I would need a new one? etc... all I am going to use is a scanmaster 2.1... and I already have a turbo tweak chip.

Yes, I have installed a walbro 255 lph pump along with the hot wire kit. I also have 60lbs injectors. Thanks

I got a capers knock detector and the audible alarm installed. I will say that when I crank the car, the knock.sensor goes off but stops immediately on every startup. I wonder if my downpipe is.hitting some place?

I haven't found any real info out there either for the 3 bar sensor, but I have read that the 2 bar is good for low boost, 14-16 psi. The 3bar is a must for higher boost

A lot of them to this. There is a thread somewhere that says to hook the power wire to a specific fuse terminal that eliminates the scream during startup. I haven't done it yet...

The map(manifold air pressure) sensor is basically an electronic boost gauge. A 2 bar has the capability of reading up to 15 psi(14.7 to be exact), a 3 bar can read to 30 psi(29.4). The factory analog dash cars had a 2 bar to operate the boost gauge on the instrument clusters. Thing is nobody runs these cars under 15 psi. So a 3 bar map is needed so the electronics used in the "kit" can read boost up to 30 psi.

The kits are offered with and without the 3 bar sensor. Why? Because there are customers who already have a 3 bar map on the vehicle used for some other purpose.. perfect example connected to the power logger or use of an aftermarket DFI computer. So there would be no need to have 2 of them. Typically the standard turbo regal.. chip computer type car.. needs to order one with the system.

I think it was to connect power to it via a hobbs switch, so it would only get power when the car goes into boost. Basically the starter hitting the flywheel is what sets it off.
