How much science is behind determining pushrod length when switching from sock cast irons to a set of aluminum GN1's?

if nothing changes other than the head aluminums require a longer rod
how much depends on
YOUR cam as base cam height varies with cam
YOUR lifters .. stock , roller lifters , solid lifter , .. as well as whos lifters as comp and morel are different heights
YOUR deck height ..how much its been milled
how much has the head been milled
YOUR gaskets ..lots of thickness choices other than stock out there to choose from depending on your desired compression
also which aluminum head and which rocker setup you go with as some champ aluminums have taller valves and that changes rod length required


when you get it all together ..MEASURE IT .. and then order what you need
