Anybody interested in buying my 1984 GN
With a new motor with only 100 miles on it.
Just feed up with the lack of parts.
I have ordered parts from vendors been billed for them (card Charged) and never recieved called and was told they were backordered and will be availible in 4 to 6 weeks no apology no nutin just "were the only place you can get them so you have to take the bullsh*& or dont get any parts.
I relize the 84-85 dont have much vendor support but getting tired of vendors
attitudes of take it or leave it and now there is no place to even get a bigger tubo as I was told limit wont do any hotair stuff and if they do you will pay out the butt.
I deal with vendors all day long with the equipment I work on and i can honestly say I have never been treated like I am when I try to get stuff for this buick.
I have been a mechanic for over 20 years and when you call some of these vendors they treat you like you are 2 years old and dont have a clue what you are talking about they treat you like a idiot
If I treated my customers the way i am treated i would be out of bussiness
hence the take it or leave it attitude.I always remember if it wasnt for the customer I wouldnt have a job.
Now I know there are some you just cant please but i will always treat them with respect, even if we dont see eye to eye after all its thier money.
Now I am not bashing all vendors there are some great ones on here.
and if this offends you then i suggest you look at why it offends yo.
Ok done venting.
thanks

Thinking about egay with a 5500 reserve.
But have to get a convertor in it before i can sell it.

dont do it. what parts do you need we might be able to help you out.

We are converting over to intercooled and may have what you need. Post up what you need.

Jim

If the reason you are selling is lack of parts-don't do it. You are correct regarding the turbo-maximum is a TA33 and it is expensive-$900. The other hard to find part is a larger downpipe-does not exist. I had a 2 1/2 inch integrated one custom made for $850. Just dump the hot air ECM, coil and coil module to the 86/87 type. I am able to find parts. Just ask and we can help. My 2 cents. Brad

Already did that

Brad I already upgaded all the electronics check my sig:tongue:
Car has been down going on 2 weeks now trying to locate rapping noise.
found noise its the convertor and wouldnt you know it just my luck
CK is in the process of moving so after shipping the convertor back monday
I get it back today from UPS saying reciever has moved unable to deliver
so who knows when i will get car running again:rolleyes:
Just frustrating seems like everthing for these cars takes forever to get right.
Oh well at least my Stang still runs I tuned it 2 years ago with TWEECER
and still runs great.

ck should be up and running soon. yes i know it sucks but my car was down for 4 years.

Yes Mike it can be very fustrating, and there are vendors I refuse to buy from, because they think of our cars as a POS and want nothing to do with them. One guy who is not like that is B Weavy from G Body Parts, he responds to our threads and really tries to help us.

We are all here to help each other and keep these cars running. Like Boost 231 said if you need something post it, there is most always a solution.

There is nothing nicer than a good looking and running 84 and I am not just saying that. I have recieved so many compliments from the IC guys about my car and especially it's interior, they all wish they had it in their car. Keep your car but just take a short breather from it and get back into it when you feel like it again. Trust me I have been doing it for years. Plus I was looking foward to having another 84 at the MAGNA meets too.

Gary

Hey Mike,
Just my .10 :) I like to give a little more, but I would just hang on to your GN, I know parts are hard to come by and there really aren't much vendors out there for our cars, I've been buying parts for the past years and still feel I'm no where near to completion, but just have to be abit more patient, I know I have ;) and I live in Hawaii, shipping cost sucks for us, there's been times that I look the other way, but its the challenge, most of my friends are intercooled, but its fun being the underdog :D , hey if you need parts just ask, if I have, I have, if not, I'm sure someone in the Hot-Air community has and are willing to help out, we're all brothers here, just have to stick together

P.S.
My car has been down for the past 2 years
and collecting dust

84GNhagan. I have been lucky because there is a Guy who owns Jimmy Transmission who rebuilds the 2004 R transmission like stink on sh**T. The only point is find the right trans guy. Bottom line is that it costs $1600 installed. Will be higher if you ship you trans. Another 2 cents. Brad

calmned

Thanks Guys
I have mellowed out now.
I have got all the parts I need for the car to run
except a convertor and I will just have to wait for CK
I have discovered that if you cant find it used your gonna have to make it yourself.
Its like Gary said alot of vendors wont even talk to you about a 84-85
and I understand from a bussiness stand point theres no money to make off of them due to the limited number made, but they dont need to talk down
to the owners of them like they do.

Mike- Remember my car is like yours and it appraised at 20 K. PM me I can help. Good luck- brad

cool

My biggest problem is my interior no one can find the material to redo the front seats the rears and door panels are in great shape.
But since i cannot find the material I am going to have to get the entire interior to the cost of 2500 dollars
