After having my SMC pump fail twice, I'm wondering what to do next time it happens. I have no compaints about the kit, except that the pump basically stinks! In another post (Cons about SMC) I posted that I had the pump fail at the track and got 10 knock counts, well, after reviewing the D.S. it was 15 counts and almost 15° retard (Still did a 12.9:eek: )

Is it possible to run a Shurflo pump with the SMC kit? Would I just pull out the old pump and put in a Shurflo, or have to run a hose into the bottle? Or just ditch the entire bottle from SMC and run the Denatured (Meth!?) in the window washer bottle and have the Shurflo pump elsewhere? TIA

Well the shureflow likes to be gravity fed. Its very sensitive to input restrictions.

Want an idea, use the stock GN overflow as the alky storage, mount the shureflow as I've been doing on the core support. And use the SMC controller for the shureflow pump.

You can wire the low led by mounting a low level sender on the GM tank.

You can also take the sender out of the SMC bottle and shorten it I believe. So it fits the GN overflow.

Added bonus is the GN overflow is 1 gallon. Twice the smc storage.

Hows that :)
