Ignition switch won't turn back to the off position? Has to be fully in park then it seems like it kinda sticks or rubs to the off position? Didn't do that until after I had my vaccum brake conversion installed? Could the mechanic possibly moved something under the dash there to make something not line up correctly? Let me know thanks.

There is a linkage on the engine side of the firewall that needs to be readjusted. It runs from the transmission to a lever that turns a portion of the steering column.

The other possibility is the rack and pinion in the steering column that connects the electrical switch to the key switch. They do get worn out once in a while and have to be replaced.

Most times, you can grab the "bowl" behind and under the steering wheel and jiggle it enough to make it go. As poster #2 stated, the shift linkage needs to be adjusted for a permanent fix...

Look beneath the steering column, there is a rod (goes down to the tranny) that bolts onto a linkage going through the firewall. Loosen the bolt set the shifter to PARK, and adjust the gear selector on the side of the traansmission to PARK as well. Tighten the bolt on the linkage, run the shifter through the gears to make certain of no binding.
