i am going to install the qboost controller on my car soon and was wondering if it basically will take the place of my adj. wastegate and also help the turbo spool better? im gonna run about 17psi and was wondering if it matters what my wastegate is set too as long as the controller is set at 17psi? i would guess that anything below 17psi would work. thanks!

so i installed the controller according to the directions and then tested it. first time, screw almost all the way out on qboost valve, 22psi! so then i screwed it in alittle and then it hit 25psi!!! not good! has anyone else experienced this problem or has any pointers for me?

You mean you did not read their detailed instructions on how to adjust the controller? Ha! I have been down the same road and the first time I boosted it hit 25 PSI:eek: I am assuming that you hooked up both controllers. One is the micro adjuster which needs to be turned all the way closed forcing the wastegate to open quicker. You will want to turn the bolt counter clockwise on the primary controller releasing the spring tension on the ball bearings.

To answer your question on the actuator I set mine at stock boost levels and use the Q boost to increase PSI. When adjusting the micro controller you are bleeding pressure off which takes more pressure to open the wastegate therefore creating more boost.

Hope this helps.

cool, i'll play with it again tomorrow probably. two questions, the allen bolt, when adjusted out seems pretty loose and doesn't have anything on it to keep pressure from bleeding off like pipe thread sealer or teflon tape. should i put something on it to make sure its not leaking and where is the best place to run the microbleeder through to the inside of the car? thanks!

The hex bolt should have a nut on it. If it does not I would get one as far as it bleeding pressure you can put some thread tape for it. I did not run my micro bleeder inside the car because it was to easy to get crazy and turn up the boost. As you know you have to add fuel and retard timing and it just did not make sense to me. I zip tied mine to the A/C dryer. It keeps it away from the heat so you can adjust it without getting burned.

reinstalled everything on the car this morning, put some tape on bolt, and turned bleeder all the way in. boost stopped at 16-17 psi... forgot to lower wastegate to around 15psi so i could adjust up and down with bleeder valve. i think this spool valve may have an adverse effect on my tires!!! used to spin alittle, now car doesnt want to stop!
