QA1 front coilover spring rates?

If you want my personal opinion they are junk. I had a set of 450 big block rate I think and the car was dropping 1/2" every 3-4 months just from sitting, then they started to creek and then leak from the shaft with 6months of use. This is my experience with them, however you may have good luck with them, but that is what happened to me.

I've also heard to use the 450's but like Norbs said, there's mixed results out there. Personally I'm going to wait to see what Scott W. (Detroit Speed) has coming out for front and rear coil overs.

I had a set when they first came out and I had the 450 pound springs also. They worked OK(not great) and rode OK(not bad actually) but the car had zero weight transfer and would just spin no matter what. The car had Del-a-lum bushings in the front with all aftermarket control arms, relocation brackets on the lowers, H&R bar and ever bolt susp. component there was but it hooked like it was on a wet road. I swapped out the QA1 coilover setup and instantly went from 1.8 60's to 1.4's with no other changes. So basically I agree with others and would reccommend that you pass on them.

are you building a drag racer, a road racer, an auto crosser, a cruiser, or a daily driver?
what wheels and tires do you have? what is your front end weight? what is your driving style?

there are a few variables involved..

Look at TRZ's coilover install kit. They have a kit that allows you to use a standard coilover spring on the QA1's or you can switch to an afco or strange shock. You'll have to cut a small section of the stock spring bucket out to run them, but you'll have your choice of rates. I was reccomended a 12" 350lb./in. spring on my car, but it's light. I bet 375 or 400 would be closer to what a full weight car would need.

Here is mine with afco's.
