I acquired a passenger side window for my 84. With the correct Olympic decal. The trim is chrome and somewhat pitted. I need it black for my GN. Was planning to swap out the window gasket and trim, with my original black.
Haven’t tried to get too rough with the rubber gasket yet. Will it pry up and out? With patience?? LOL and some swearing?!
Taking my time, but tying to figure out if it’s worth doing or better to try to paint the chrome trim black with gasket intact.
Anyone done this?
Thanks!!

Ok thanks for your help! Found empty trim on eBay for sale. I figured it was possible . I will try harder to remove gasket :)

Pacecarta said it perfectly. I was trying to pry the rubber off the backside. Wrong!
Start at the bottom of the window. Carefully pry trim up and away from the rubber from the outside of the window.

that window looks like its from a landau (padded vinyl ) roof
the rubbers on vinyl roof are different from hardtop in that the vinyl roof quarter rubber lacks the rubber flange on outer edge to cover the opening properly when theres no vinyl on the roof
ive never tried to remove the glass from the rubber but with the trim out it should be doable
