got a 86 t-type with bad rear quarters, found a 83 regal with good rear clip. do i change both quarters or whole rear clip? whats the best way to cut it too, other than a plasma cutter?

Mine was cut at the waist line after the back half of the donor was cut. Get the whole back if you can..once you start tearing into your car you may find ALOT of problems with rust

I'm about to take on the same project with the help of a local body shop. I have located a good solid tub with no rust. The car doesn't have a frame, doors, rear deck lip, rear bumpers, fillers or lights. It doesn't have a title, ac/heater box, or dash. It's just the tub, but it's solid. I suppose that if I wanted to, I could put the non rusted tub on my car, I would have to take off the whole nose of my car, remove the dash, wiring, transfer the heater/AC, interior, doors, and trunk. This is probably too much work for me. I definitely need both quarters replaced, as well as the rockers. I could cut them off, or have the body shop do it. I have some minor issues with the floor on the driver's side as well. I will probably have to cut the rear quarters, too bad since the tub is so nice. Is there another way to use the back half of the tub and floor without total dis-assembly and removal everything from the existing tub?

thats what I'd like to do, maybe cut from top corner of door to quarter window then back glass?
