Question about a trading deal

I have a question on something that I am getting screwed on right now.

I sent a $300 item with a $64 shipping charge that had insurance and a tracking number to a member, I was going to get $300 worth of parts with maybe $10 for shipping and so far all I got is PM's about how he sent it to the wrong address, even though I PMed the guy the address it needed to go when we made the deal "that he said he sent the same day that I sent mine". He waited till he got my package and then sent it to the address that was on the package for some warehouse that has like 250-300 workers. Then I find out he sent it standerd USPS without even a tracking number. WTF !!! I have gone by that warehouse 3 times now and no one knows anything about it. (like I have time to hunt down a package that was sent to the wrong place, by the way is about 30 min. from my house)

This has gone on for over a month now and now I need the parts.

What would you guys do?

Who was it? Trading is risky on here. Just an FYI on how you may want to do it next time. You send paypal to him (i.e. $300) and he sends paypal to you ($300). You sent yours out with tracking (your covered), if he sends his to you and you never get it and he didn't have tracking guess what $300 dollar refund to you. Live and Learn.

+1 on using pay-pal.It pretty much looks like you might be taking a loss on
this,unless the member is honest.Sucks to say it but somehow try to work it out with the member.People make mistakes but come on the dudes respond for a refund or something.If it doesn't go good,looks like a member is gonna get bashed on the boards.Curious on who this was?Feel your pain man!

I hate reading stuff like this .. years ago I sent $2k to a guy for an engine. Didn't know the guy but both of us were on the same site for a long time. I trusted him. He got the motor out the same day he got my $$ .. Kept in contact with me to till I got it to.. Would I do that today ?? sorry to say NO Peoples word or reputation doesn't mean squat anymore Good luck getting this resolved

your right grumpy its a real shame people act like this , i hate seeing these stories , i would never do anything like that to a board member , you know we all put our heart and soul into working on these cars , the least somebody can do is stand up like a man and do what is right , i would never let anybody do that to me , i would be at his front door , i dont care where he is at . Hope you get your stuff .:smile:

I TREAT PEOPLE THE WAY I WOULD WANT TO BE TREATED , WE ARE ALL IN TO THESE CARS , IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE FOR ENJOYMENT AND TALKING AND MEETING PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME PASSION FOR THESE CARS, AS I DO . WE ALL KNOW THESE CARS ARE A LOVE HATE RELATIONSHIP .

The warehouse is 30 min away from me where he sent the Package to and another thing that I noticed is that the warehouse is "6400 Columbia Ave." and the board member sent it to "640 Columbia Ave" I looked for a 640 and it would have been an open field. I am just hoping that the Post Office retures to sender and then the guy sends it to me and everything is good.

That's a good idea, but I think he was not set up with paypal? I don't remember.

But the guy thinks I have the parts and I am trying to scam him.

Thats a real shame. Remindes me of a downpipe with a HKS external gate that I bought from a TB member Paid something like $500 for. A complete usless pos. I can't even sell it because I don't want to see anyone else get screwed.
