question about changing rear end gear oil

I want to change the rear end oil which I think was never done. The rear is stock. I bought a gasket. Questions are

1. What is the capacity of the rear

2. Anyone runnng synthectic and if so, what brand and weight

3 How often should it be changed.

Its under 2 qts. Just fill until it starts running out.

I used Mobil 1 and I changed it every year.

The rear end fluid needs to be changed quite often,These get dirty pretty quick and will get noisey otherwise.GMs fluid is fine,make sure oil has posi additive.Some people use gasket and sealant,some use just sealant.

Nope. Doesn't need it with Mobil 1. Might be that way with all the synthetics but I'm not sure.

depends on the brand you get. it should say whether or not the additive is needed or already included.
