How is the side molding that starts on the front fender and runs down the body line of the car attached on an 87 GN? Pop rivets, adhesive? Id like to shave it off but I want to know if its a matter of a heat gun or a grinder lol. Thanks

Any suggestions on the easiest way to remove it? Heat gun and fishing line or??? Buff it afterwards?

There are some that are riveted on as well. Post a pic, and we can tell you.
Stick on style are all rubber. Riveted style have a thin metal trim with rubber strip that slides in.

Are you going to replace it?

Not sure if it matters to you, but a friend of mine could see a shadow on his car where the trim used to be after a previous owner had removed it. And I'm not talking about a tape line either.
I don't believe he even knew that it used to have the trim until he saw the shadow and he checked the RPO code and it showed the car as having the trim.

He is very particular about his vehicles and can pick the fly shyt out of pepper!:p

Not sure if a buffing will take care of that either if you decide to leave it off.

Have been following your build....Very Nice!:) Can't wait to see the outcome!

The strips on money have pop rivets at the beginning and end of the strip some of my rubber was missing and I seen them so Peel the rubber a little before you start yanking on them!

Super easy way to remove glued on mouldings is to spray some 3M wax and adhesive remover (find it at Walmart) behind the moulding and let it sit for a minute or two, then get some high test fishing line and "saw" through the adhesive. I literally had mine off in five minutes, both sides. You might even be able to pull them off with your hands without fishing line, it's that good. Afterwards let the stuck on adhesive sit for a few minutes and you can ball it up and peel it off with your fingers (the 3M product makes it very mushy so if you try to do it immediately you'll make a mess).
