Question on aftermarket set-up's

hello, I am looking into running an aftermarket computer on my truck, i have been wonder if there are many differences between the FAST system and say an accel DFI gen 7. this would be for my single turbo s-10, i plan to run my stock computer for the guages and what not but something aftermarket for the motor. what do you guys run and reccomend ? as I am new to this i would be having a local GN tunner set it up and do all the tunning, the shops name in anderson performance out of baltimore MD. if anyone has heard anything good or bad please let me know thanks.
