How does it come out? From the top or the bottom. Mine is disconnected and I cant get it out.........but the car is on the ground, dont have it on jack stands.....do I need to lift it up??
Should have the stock intake off tommorrow......and then the confusion will overwhelm me..........:D

Nick

Stock downpipe?

I got mine out of the car from the top.....took me about 4 hours, and it hasn't moved since the day I threw it in the corner of my shop.....very hard to remove as one peice....

Going back if I had to do it again, I would cut it in half so the top comes out the top, and the bottom just slides out.

To take it out in once peice I took off:
Exhaust Inlet Pipe
Turbo
A/C lines
A/C Compressor

...And with all them removed it still came out fighting!

Damn.............I got the up pipe, exhaust housing, turbo all off......the only thing left is the intake and fuel rail and they are not in the way.........AC lines and compressor........AC just got refilled, I will try cutting it if I must............what a hunk of junk....how hard is it to get a ATR downpipe in there.........or are they two pieces.......that is the downpipe I want to go with????

TIA Nick

Nick take the passenger header off too. You will have to take off teh crossover as well but that is the easiest way to do it. If you can afford it get an ATR crossover. Big improvement over the stock unit since the stocker is double walled.
Are you happy with the stock turbo exhaust housing I sold you?

Nick - I had to take the aluminum bracket that the A/C compressor and Alt are on - off the car (the one that is bolted to the front of the pass side head).

I turned and twisted my DP out going fwd towards the front of the car and up.

Little things get in the way...just take your time. Never heard it done with a hoist...might be easier if ya got access to one - jacking it up a few feet isn't gonna help ya though...its too long.

My ATR piece slid in the way the stocker came out. Get the ATR set - headers, x-over, up-pipe and DP. I love mine and they look great too.

thanks guys I will take my time and get her out.............I have the Postons two piece crossover right now.........Turbowrenchead the polished exhaust housing your sent look awesome man.......plus one of the stock bolts busted on mine and aint coming out.......hehe..............so its all good.................now with out the trottle body how will the air filter housing tube hook up to the turbo?????(since I am relocating it to the front) If I find a TA49 that might help since it has a flang coming out on it right? I wish I could afford to get all ATR exhaust right now but I cant.............I am seriously debating maybe just getting the passenger side header or would that be stupid? and get the driver later? I think my passenger needs to be fixed........the flang has gone oval on me......what ya guys/gals think????? TIA Nick

My stock down pipe came out with the header off and the bracket off and the ac compressor hanging loose (don't have to break the connections), then the DP comes out with a little twisting toward the front of the car. ATR down pipe goes in the same way the
old one came out. Then bolt it all back together.
