Question on original GN rear floor mats

Guys, Can anyone tell me what type of backing the original rear Floor (not Gloor...damn typos!) mats that came with the car had? Is it the "ribbed" type or the little nubs. Also, did the originals have a part number on them? I recently bought a set from a board member that I'm not sure are "original" as he stated. Pivtures would be great!

Rich, I believe my rear mats to be OEM and they have a ribbed backing.

I have mine in a box. They have never had shoes on them. I'll try to find it tomorrow.

I just checked mine. They are wrapped in plastic and I can feel the nubs thru the plastic. They are pretty sharp. Like I said, they have never had shoes on them. I bought the car from my friend in 2007. He bought it new in 1986. He was a car detailer and took extremely good care, but saved things like the mats. They were wrapped when I got the car in 07 and it only had 14,000 miles on it.

Meaning that not only were GM's probably different from different suppliers, but they went the cheaper route to repop the aftermarket ones for an easier production. The only requirements from GM would be the shape of the mat, not the backing nor carpet used. There were probably about 4 different factories making floor mats for them. We have 2 factories making door panels in my town right now. Each factory makes the same door panels, just different colors.

Look at those ones I sold you. If my memory is correct they are identical. Those mats were in my car from day 1 and were on the window sticker as Option #B35 - REAR CARPET SAVERS WITH INSERTS _$20.

I saw that, but didn't look at all the pics he had attached. Those rears are the EXACT ones I bought from you. The rear mat backing is spot on. I wonder why it's different than the fronts?

He wants 750$ for the set! I have an NOS set of fronts (No box) and your MINT rears completeing a set. If I ever do a full concours resto on my car I'll be ready. Now all I need are NOS headlight bezels, grill,hoodliner,radiator,battery....
