Can I Take The Oil Cooler Off Without Messing Anything Up?? & Will It Hurt Anything Not Running It? & What Is The Best Way?
Thanks For The Help,
Seneca Lafler,

as long as you connect the inlet line to the outlet line so it can make the loop, it will be okay. What will probably happen is the hotter oil will drop in pressure, particularly at idle by 2-3#.

An alternative is to simply remove the oil cooler adapter and then you won't have to loop the lines together. If you are running a biggie oil filter adapter, this will put you back to using a stock type oil filter, tho.

I have never run one and do see low oil pressure at idle after the car is hot as SWOOD has stated. I removed the oil cooler adapter and just popped on a stock style FRAM filter.

I do have the lifter bores "scribed" for more oil flow to the cam which probably doesn't help either.

No problems thus far..... however if you race the car for long periods of time (road race).... you probably want one.

I have read that the GM engineers added an oil cooler for people would potentially would used their cars to tow!
