Question on trans or high RPM breaking up

I thinking that I'm having a problem with my trans causing me to be to high in the RPM range.And Its breaking up around 5600-5700 RPMs.I installed a BOP 400 and now I'm way up near 6000 RPMs when I go through the traps.It never used to do this with my 2004r.It just seems that it is going through the 1st and 2nd gear real fast.I'm just woundering what would be the best solution,Pull the trans and have it regeared if thats possible or go to the next size tire which would be a 29 inch tall or lower rear end gears..The only thing that I know about the trans is that it has stright cut turbo gears and a beefed up sprag and a Trans specialty 3800 stall lock up conv.And I think he said somthing about a 4130 clutch pack,sorry I'm not much of of a trans guy,I'm just trying to get to the bottom of why I'm feeling like I'm running out of gear at the end of the 1/4 mile and being so high in the RPMs.I hope someone can point me in the right direction.Thanks Tony
My combo is below and I have changed plug wires and coil pack and module but it still is breaking up.The only way I can get it to stop breaking up is to retard the timing by the translator plus as much as 10 degree at 6000 rpm to keep it for breaking up.Which I'm sure is hurting performance.(Gas is 114 race fuel)02s are high 700s low 800s @WOT @0 knock
 
there are no lock-up converters for the TH400 (without a lot of special equipment)........there are some switch pitch converters available, but it sounds like your additional rpm is due to a non lock converter

3rd gear in the 2004r and th400 are the same....... 1:1

if you want to run 6000 rpm, the first place to look is your valve springs.......you are prolly floating the valves

if you do indeed have some kind of locking converter, when does it lock and how much rpm drop?
