A buddy just picked up a used one.

2000 Silverado 2500 with the 6 liter vortec motor.

We were looking under the hood and I noticed it does not have a booster behind the brake master cylinder.

Anyone know if there is anything special/different with the brakes on those trucks?

Thanks.

Will

It should be a hydraboost on that truck. My girlfriends brother has a 2002 2500 hd that has hydraboost. I replaced power steering pump on his twice second pump was a pos cardone. replaced rear brakes three times in 98,000 miles.never did fronts:confused: He is an off roader. If you do a lot off off roading gm has a tsb to install a flap in front of rear wheels to keep debris from getting in to calipers mainly right rear. gm part#15765007. If you can fabricate things out of sheet metal you can make your own. Those trucks are tough. good luck with it

Thanks Chopped. I thought it might be something like that. I tell you what when you stomp the brakes that puppy STOPS!

Not sure how soon the brakes will go but the rear tires are going to be toast much sooner ;-)
