What kind of ET should 85mph in the 1/8th bring?

I mean is it good for high 7's in the 1/8th?

Your car would have to leave with a mid 1.7 or better 60ft to get into the high 7 with only an 85 mph trap speed. Not all that hard in a relatively stock car. The usual ET for a TR that runs 85 is 8.2's to 8.0's. 85mph in the 1/8th is typical for a TR that runs 106 mph in the 1/4.

Precisely :) , see sig. My T runs 7.94 to 8.14 in the eighth depending on traction. The 106 in the quarter was with the TC locked, unlocked I got a 12.5 with 105 mph, 12.6 with a 104.

Then you can see with the GN that the slower 60 ft time slows down that eighth ET. By getting a 0.15 better 60 ft with the T, it gave me 0.30 more ET in the eighth, comparing the T to the GN at the same mph (7.97 vs. 8.27).

For more info on mostly stock car running these times, see my drag racing post:
Turbo T hits high 7s

tim was that time on slicks or drag radials? i just ran 12.9 @ 106 with a 1.9 60 ft time. i am using nittos and i can only launch at about 4 lbs of boost. man if i can get my 60 down i got the mph for a 12.5x run. :) oh yea my car is stock turbo/heads/intercooler/injectors and has 118k miles on it. driven every day.

FWIW, slicks would really help even more than the DRs. I got down to a 1.76 60' with G60's only after a massive crowd-covering burnout. Now it spins hard right off the line before hooking. I know with slicks and a good burnout I can hit 1.70's and maybe even high 1.6's and maybe bring my 1/4mi. times down a tenth or two.

I do not have much experience at the drag strip. Read that thread I posted a link to. It talks about the launch method of boosting up to 4 or 5 lbs, mashing the accelerator, then releasing the brake quickly.

The car has only been to the track 3 times, twice in the quarter. I have only used slicks once at Morocco this last time. They were 28x9 MT drag slicks with a best of 1.73 and worst of 1.78 60'. I tried the 235 BFGs once and got a 1.81 for a 12.8, slowest of the day. The 60 foots make the biggest difference for ET.

I used some little 235 BFGs at an eighth mile track and got a 1.71 and 1.73 with a 5 lb launch. So I think track conditions play a big part. I do think slicks helped me cut a better 60 while trying to cut a light though, or in other words, a better 60' at a lower boost launch. When I tried to leave quick on the BFGs, I got 1.81s.
