I have a 87 GN, few bolt ons, the problem I'm having is tranny is shifting quickly from 1st,2nd,3rd,od, when the car has been driven for about an hour.

When the car is driven a short distance, the trans shifts fine, but after an hour or so, the trans starts shifting fast. This happens when taking off with normal pedal pressure. Fluid and filter have recently been changed and fluid level is correct. At wot, the tranny shifts fine.

Any ideas ??

TCC Solenoid

Hey Mark,

The link to the TCC solenoid problem sounds exactly like what I'm going through. I'm going to buy the parts and hopefully it will correct my problem.

Also checked out your car, it looks badass !!

Thanks for your fast response,

James

I had the same prob along with many others, it's very common for them to fail, the solenoids for 700 are better. Good luck and let us know how ya make out.

Bruce Toelle at PTS sells the 700 solenoid with the spacers, wire splice kit and instructions for install. Here is the site, and just call him. You will need the spacers for it to work correctly. And this TC sol is cheaper than the stock one and supposed to work better, as mentioned. I have one of their shift kits too :) http://www.2004rPerformanceCenter.com/
