Hey Guys,
I broke a clamp on my Kenne Bell headers. It says R.G.RAY Corporation 10528 on the outside. Not sure of the size, but the 528 is stamped into every section of the V-shaped stampings inside the clamp itself. The threads broke off. Anyone have one laying on the workbench?

Thanks

It is 2 1/4" v-band

Not sure. I will have to measure the crossover pipe. Probably close to that. I'm still looking.
I emailed RG RAY, but havent heard back. Im going to call after work today.

please keep us updated, i think i am in the same boat.... i am looking for some quality V-band clamps for my headers as well.

The clamp measures 2 3/8 when totally closed, so I would say 2 1/4 ID pipe.
I'm calling R.G.Ray Corp at first break this morning. I'm going to order 4 if I can. I want a pair is spares.

I took my clamp off last night and did a little research.. With the number and name, i was able to reference 2 1/4

Thank you. You are more help then R.G.Ray can be right now. He is guessing that it was a part number used for Kenne Bell and had a run of about 2000 or so. Then the number was discontinued. He is trying to cross reference and get back with me. I'll post when I know more.

These clamps are the same ones that ATR used on their headers. So I would say more like 1996. Anyways, the 2.25" will work up to 2.58". They are all over the internet. But here is the catch, the 2.25" cost more than the 2.5" or bigger. Go figure right. I am calling the local semi shop this morning to see if the have any.

On my ATR headers, clamps seemed fine, but I am having a hard time to getting them to seal correctly. I have RJCs stainless crossover gaskets, but they don't seem to help. I can not stand the sound of an exhaust leak. Squeaky brake and bearings sound like music compared to an exhaust leak/tick..... Not to forget cause issues in spool up time.

So how do you get your crossover to headers to seal and not make a sound? Or do you think that my clamps are just stretched and need newer ones!!

I have never had mine on yet. They are for my new stroker. I was mocking up everything and I need a clamp. I'm just going to fix mine. The threads snapped, so I am making a custom bolt to put in it. Looking at my clamp, I can mod it to clamp tighter if I need to.
Try putting a wrap or 2 of the foil exhaust tape on the pipes, while together, and then clamp them up. The tape will seal the leak, and expand the diameter a little and the clamp will be tighter. This should work really well.

Coach,

I stand somewhat corrected. The pipe itself is 2.25" .... Now the the flange is 3", so then you need a 3" v-band. After doing some measuring and more research, I called TA Performance and talked to Tim. They have Turbo Crossover to Header Gasket made with a steel core and carbon graphite coating. They carry them in two different sizes of thinkness. Also the care the v-band (3") for $23 (give or take a few cents). The gaskets are $5.00 per a set.

Now here is where I went wrong..... The v-band is an 2.25" ID (CLOSED), that way it wraps around the exhaust, not the flange. Sorry for the confusion!!

I fixed mine. I made a post in the Fabrication thread. I can also cut them to tighten them up if yours are stretched. I think I can get about another 1/8 inch out of them. The fix I did to mine...I can do for anybody. The cost to do a pair is way cheaper them buying 2 new ones and it is stronger then it was new.
