WTH!?!?!

I can get race fuel much cheaper by filling my own jugs at the pump than if I were to by a 54 gallon drum - AND THIS IS BEFORE SHIPPING:confused:

if you have any local speed shops then i would go trew them they seem (usally) to have the best prices on the gas

oh yea ive never heard of it being more 2 buy buy the gallon then to buy it by a drum

$237/54 gallon drum + ?shipping?
or
$3.60/gallon, total, at the pump??? Sunoco GT-100 and same for GT+, which is 104 octane at the track pumps.

UNLEADED

the 100 keeps the knock away at 22psi, but since the 104 is the same price I was looking at that - good for maybe 25 -27 psi.

the 116 was priced more by the drum than at the pump too.

Steve, where in MD are you? I'm in Laurel. The pump gas here is GT98, not 100 - somehow Maryland has some requirement on composition that keeps Sunoco from selling GT100 as a road fuel (the GT104 definitely has too much MTBE so goes over the max limit for oxygenates, which is why you can't buy that at a pump). At least that's what's at the pumps in Rising Sun and Catonsville.

Hi Carl:

I'm just up the road from you - Burtonsville. BTW, there is a very good group that meets Sunday morning at rt. 29 and 198. I also hang out Tuesday nite at the Silver Diner. I am often with a friend in a blue 69 Mach 1.

The fuel in MD is actually 100 octane. I asked Sunoco, not just the guy at the station, and their reply was that MD law does not permit one to advertise more than 98 octane, so they advertise the minimum rating as 98, but there is only one part number for the GT-100 that everybody gets and it is 100, using the (R+M)/2.

The "at-the-pumps" for the GT+ (104), is the pumps at the track - 75 and 80 sells it for less than the price at the pump for the 100 at the station off rt. 40 - at least this was true last year.

Up date, add another $100 for delivery!

$237 + 97.87 = $334.87

$6.20 per gallon!!!!

These numbers come from the closest distributor on Sunoco's web site. (they are in VA, I'm in MD).

Hmm, I didn't know any TR's showed up for the Church of the Doughnut worship services :-). Chuck Roberts told me that he was a regular there but I've never gone. That's good to know about the GT98 - I asked a guy at a station and he told me that it was 98 (R+M)/2. Do you ever come out to the monthly pizza hut meetings of MABPC, formerly MAGS, the local GSCA chapter? First Tuesday of each month at the North Laurel Pizza Hut on Rt. 1 just south of Hwy 32, 7pm til 9-10 pm. We also hang out at Vernon's Automotive on Rt 1 S in Laurel most evenings and Saturdays - to talk cars and to eat at the BarBQ House out front, mmmmmmm good :-).

That's wacky on the fuel prices. Can you at least go down in a pickup and get the drum yourself to save the $100?

LMAO!!! That is a good one!

Last year I would go from time to time. Now that the trans is in, I'll head up when I can get up - those guys are there early.

I have recently only seen one other GN on Sunday at Burtonsville. V8KILLER (Jason) lives in College Park

I'll come look you guys up some time - thanks for the info on the hang-outs.

My friend has a super clean 69 Mach 1, I have been riding with him. My GN is a bit rough.
