Race Gas Question

How fast does race gas go bad? The reason I ask is because I have a can of VP 116 thats been sitting for a while and I am hesitant to pour it in my tank if its too old.

what do you have it in? i was told by the guy that sells race gas here that if it is in a plastic gas can it wont be good for very long.

If you go to VP's website, they say that their gas can be stored indefinitely without going bad. Make sure the gas hasnt seen any sun, or it will kill the octane.

Its still in the original VP metal can. I can't remember exactly when I got it but it could be around 2 years old.

Sunoco race gas distributor told me about 1-1.5 years if sealed
in a metal container and no direct sunlight...
