I was putting in my DIY alky kit and when I was pulling off the hose radiator going to the overflow tank, the fitting on the neck of the radiator came out when I pulled the hose off. How do I fix this? Can I tap some threads in the neck of the radiator where the fitting went into and screw in a new brass fitting w/ barbs on the other end where the hose would go or is there an easier way? Any help would be great. Rather do it myself than drive it to the radiator shop like that.

TIA,

Is that your T in the pic?

Is it sage?

Is that the original color?

A spark plug wire pliers applied to that hose and a few gentle twists in either direction before pulling will get that hose off with much less fanfare.

Sorry for your problem...

:(

That is my T in the pic and it was painted about 2.5 years ago before I bought her. It is silver but I believe it is just a tad bit brighter than the original. I like it alot!:D

I did do the plier thing and it pulled right out. Oopps! I am going to tap the hole out and thread a new fitting in it. Not to big of a deal anymore.

That is the thing, it wouldn't go back into position. I don't even have soldering iron.:o I could get one chep though. I will use this new brass fitting anyways because the old one was bugered up from me trying to work it back in.

That pic is from the previous owner who lives in W. Atlanta. I did live in OKC but I just moved away ll of my stuff back home to St. Louis a couple of days ago becasue I am headed to Korea in a couple of weeks.:(

Nice car!

Good luck with your trip to Korea. Uncle Sam sent me there in 1971 after Viet Nam. Not the worst place in the world...

Thanks for the complimentsand all. I will be having some fun over there. I will be soldering this together this weekend. Gotta do it the right way. I just want to drive the car a couple more times before I jet!

Howdy Sean Kuehnel,

What do you do for the USAF? Are are you stationed at Tinker?

Thanks,
