Anyone running an aluminum radiator like what came out in say a 1990 IROC? If so, how's it done for you and will the oil cooling line's work on this radiator?

if you are talking about an fbody radiator, type that into the search feature, kick back with a beer in your hand and get ready to read:smile:

I read a lot on turbobuicks last night about this but never found anywhere if you could hook up the engine oil cooling line's to the Fbody radiator, just wandered also about the plastic tank's? Seem's that there has been a lot of controversy about the plastic tank's. I just was wandering if anyone here has been running one for a while and how it was working?

a ton of guys run them from what I have read..im sure there's some fabrication involved to make the oil lines work, but there's probably 30 or more posts involving hookups, prices, and what not

i use an fbody radiator and like it so far... been a year maybe. Hottest i have gotten with a stock cooling fan is 186 in some nasty, hot weather, adn stop and go traffic. i just removed my oil cooler for now and have the tranny lines running into the cooler on the radiator...im sure its not cooling it off much but its there so i figured i would use it. Eventually i will get an external oil/tranny cooler and stop using the radiator hook ups but that is for later. hth

I already have an external trans cooler, guess i could go with an external oil cooler as well. Might even help the radiator cool the engine a little better that way?

done it today, my car was staying in range of 200 to 222 before and couldnt even cut the air on, put on a 1989 camaro 5.7, autozone price 91.99 plus tax, took bout an hour, deleted the oil cooler, using 10/40 full syn on a fresh motor, with air on idle for an hour temp didnt get over 172, air off and a couple hard pulls stayed below 180, im in mississippi and its very humid
