I have a '98 Suburban with the stock Delco radio. Some of the numbers and the search button do not light up when the running lights are on. What are the bulds or lights needed to repair this problem? Thank you Drew

If it's only certain buttons/areas, then yes, the little "grain-o-wheat" bulbs need to be replaced. I don't know where you get those though.

I had a buddy with a 98 Astro Van that had some dash/radio bulbs going out. He got them at radio shack. Bummer was, some of them I had to solder in! They looked like little tiny Christmas light bulbs (small), with 2 long wires hanging off the bottom. Some of the switches you have to bend tabs to take them apart, and the bulb wires are pressed in to the switch. I cut the wire halfway up and soldered the new one in. Worked great!

That's good info. What about the Theftlock? If you disconnect power and the code was set by the previous owner you can't use it anymore untill you "break" the code? If the code was never set in the first place then power can be disconnected without any concern.........right? Thanks Drew

FWIW,Just about any hobby shop (not the ones in the mall we're talking real hobby shops here) that sell model trains will carry or can get grain-o-wheat bulbs in various styles.
