The guy designs the US Olympic team opening ceremony uniforms and has the made in China! What a douche! He said he was sorry and next time he will have them made in the US. I hope the ass hat goes bankrupt!

Imagine getting the uniform and seein all the USA Olympic logo's and then seeing the tag inside that says Made in China. How freaking embarrassing.

He probably didn't even consider it. More than likely all his clothing is made in China or some third world country. It's a crappy looking uniform and what's with the berets? They would be more fitting for the French Olympic team. It's a disgrace but just a reflection on how big business runs in America.

this was news over a week ago, and you are just now getting outraged?

i'm more disappointed that i've seen Toyota logos on some US Olympic uniforms- i mean, come on- the people of the USA own a large share of GM, at least get them to pony up the $ponsor$hip dollars to get the GM logo out on the world stage..

Ya, that should have looked into b/f the uniforms were made but next one's will be made in America. Ralph Lauren has been a huge supporter of the US Olympic team for a while. Don't forget, the federal government does NOT fund the US Olympic team. It's entirely by donations, unlike much of the rest of world. So, like it or not logos will be seen. I thought the uniform looked like something Thirston Howell the Third would wear. Don't care for berets either.

I work 12 hour shift on a four on four off schedule so I am usually a week late.

I could care less that the government doesn't sponsor the Olympic team. The point is that he outsourced a stupid looking uniform for a team that is representing the USA and makes the look french in a chinese made outfit.

As for the Toyota logo's, at least Toyota make cars in the US. GM only makes 3 out of every 10 cars in the US. So to me they are no longer an American company. They are now a Chinese company. We have three auto manufactures here in Indiana; Toyota, Honda and Subaru. No GM, Ford or Chrysler. So which companies are American? I don't want to make one guy in Detroit rich! I wanna make the 500 employees at each one of these plants to continue to work.

He's actually a pretty nice guy. A little strange but nice to the average Joe. I'm sure he didn't intentionally say "make sure the uniforms are made overseas". I would think a businessman like Lauren would have considered that being on a world stage and what not. Bad oversight in my opinion.

More than likely he had a hand in the design and left the "managers" to getting the best bid on them. He probibly didn't even think about where they were made until it was pointed out to him.

The uniforms suck no matter where they were made. The beret reminds of the giant Stay Puff dude in the movie Ghostbusters...lmao!

They were bad, but not near as bad as some of the others. Immediately the host country comes to mind, what's up with the gold "pits"?
