just did mine today...i disconected the two brackets that hold the ac lines in place then undid the two bolts on top and at the bottom of the fan. Then took off the upper radiator suport bracket took out the old fan. slipped in the ram chargers fan and marked on the topp where to drill two holes to put screws in to hold in the factory barackets for the ac. Bent out the two tabs on the upper radiator support. With fender screws i bolted the radioator / ac brackets and radiator support together. then bolted the radiator support back together. took about 20 mins. It is tight with no brackets at the bottom.

cut off the ears and groove the sides where the ears were
it pops right in to the stock radiatior between the end tanks
push it to the bottom
use the metal lower bracket off the stock fan only bring it to the top ,take the the speed clip nuts off the ends of the bracket and put them on the other side of the inboard flaps
, flip it over and 180 and hold the bracket behind the the fan upper mounting tabs on the rad support cover
install the a/c line studs through the tabs and into the bracket
then reinstall the a/c line clamps
looks like stock that way

theres some pics posted up on the t6p board

pacecarta, I did a searrch and came up empty. Can you post a link to the pics, or e-mail them or the link to me? Thanks, Brian

they were posted under a thread on the hotwire install but you can clearly see the fan installed on a stock radiator

no drilling , it wont move and looks like the factory did it

you may also be able to see where i had to grind away a little off the lower driverside fan support arm to clear the power steering box

I put it in this way to put the fan right up against the fins , it imroves the draw through the radiator , as does pushing it to the bottom since the first couple fins at the top of the radiator dont normally even have liquid flowwing through them .

I just put a dual fan and hotwire in my 86 with a FMIC which had an Fbody radiator , only diference in install was it required grinding off the grooved edges on the sides of the fan to fit between the end tanks . to insure a tight seal of the fan shroud to the radiator I also put 1/4x3/8 foam weather seal (from lowes) on the edge at the top and bottom.

As mentioned before, the mounting tabs have to be cut off. Also, the small lip on each side has to be cut or ground down to allow the fan to fit between the radiator tanks. A band saw is preferred but a Sawzall will work.

I fabricated four 1.25" wide angle brackets. The short leg was cut to 0.5" long and drilled with two holes to accomodate 10-32x0.5" socket head screws. The brackets are located up against the lip at the top and bottom of the fan housing. Matching holes were drilled in the fan housing and the brackets were fastened to the housing using lock nuts. The brackets were located to reach the original holes in the radiator support. The fan is about a quarter inch off the surface of the fan like the original. The final product looks like it came from the factory that way.

Can you take some pics of the installation?

Sorry for the major delay. Also, the focus wasn't too good but the pictures do get the idea across. The socket head screws are torwards the radiator and, as a result, are mostly out of sight. It does look like an OEM installation in the end. Here are the links

The pictures were reshot and a picture with one of the brackets was added.

Don't know if it would work with the stock radiator but I put mine on when I went to a F-Body radiator with no tabs or brackets at all.

I cut the ears off and trimmed down the sides a little bit at a time. Mine slid in perfectly between the end tanks. Very snug fit. Just be careful not to damage any of the core lines on the radiator.

BTW, holy old post Batman!
